Suwon, South Korea – Fibres synthesised by a wet spinning process using flower-shaped silver nanoparticles with nanodisc-shaped petals and polyurethane have been developed by a student team.
The Center for Integrated Nanostructure Physics at the Institute for Basic Science (IBS), and the School of Mechanical Engineering, Sungkyunkwan University, Suwon in South Korea worked together on the process.
“The fibres with extraordinarily high conductivity, stretchability, and mechanical strength may be useful for wearable electronics applications,” according to the team.
