Holger Engelmann, is chairman of Webasto. At the event Engelman said: ' As a provider of roof and thermo systems we are, today, highly successful on an international level. This is something for which we must also thank our suppliers.'
BBG managing director, Hans Brandner accepted the award on behalf of his company. The German firm has worked with Webasto for many years. It not only provides systems for glass bonding but also works as a development partner with the Tier 1.
The development work is based on bonding systems for glass and plastic with polyurethane. The supplier designs components, develops and makes suitable tools, mould carriers and complete production lines.
Webasto claims to be one of the 100 largest automotive component suppliers worldwide. It develops and makes sliding, panoramic and convertible roofs. Webasto had sales of EUR 3.5bn in 2017 and employs 13,000 and 50 locations. Meanwhile, it is headquartered in Stockdorf, near Munich, Germany.
BBG is a family-owned company that employs 170 people. The company is based in Mindelheim, 87 km (55 miles) West of Munich in southern Germany.
