Oxford, UK – West European car registrations in December 2019 were up by 20.6% at 1.14 m units compared with December 2018, according to data from LMC Automotive. A total of 0.94m units were registered.
In Germany, sales were up 19.50% in December. Registrations were 283,380 units. Brexit uncertainty again hit UK sales, and these were down 2.40% year on year, at 148,997.
In France, the year-on-year increase in registrations was 1.90%, with a total of 2.2 m units sold in the year so far. Spanish sales were up by 7% in the month, at 106,000 units.
Meanwhile, in Italy sales were up by 13%, reaching a total of 140,075 units in December. A total of 1.9 m vehicles have been sold there in the year to date.
