Perstorp, Sweden -- The declaration of force majeure for Perstorp's caprolactone products sent out 19 April 2011 has been withdrawn, the Swedish chemical company said in a 6 May statement.
Perstorp had been forced to temporarily shut down its production of Capa caprolactone monomer and polycaprolactone polymers at its Warrington, England, plant and to declare force majeure. Production and maintenance staff worked throughout the Easter holiday period to resolve all problems and to restart the plant, Perstorp said in the statement.
Production recommenced on 27 April and the company said the plant is now operating steadily again. The company said it expects to soon be able to confirm deliveries of orders that were received during the force majeure.
Perstorp added that lead-times for the Capa product range are extended and the situation is likely to continue until it completes its capacity expansion during the summer.
