Mississauga, Ontario -- The Woodbridge Group is expanding its automotive moulded seating foam and interior parts operations in Brazil, with a new facility in Capivari, Sao Paulo.
The site of the new facility is already an automotive production hot spot with, said Woodbridge, manufacturers continuing to build new plants in the region
“Moreover, a growing concern for occupant safety and comfort, require parts that can deliver higher performance and value.
“Despite the recent softening of the local economy, Brazil’s vehicle production is set to grow at an annual compound growth rate (CAGR) of 6.8% between 2013 and 2019, making it the 7th largest global vehicle market,” said the company in a press release.
Paulo Farina, vp and general manager South America at The Woodbridge Group, said: “We are excited about the continued growth in Brazil. We currently provide a healthy volume of automotive seat cushioning products to several OEMs and tier one customers.
“We are also looking forward to the opportunities that lie ahead in the near future, as two OEMs have announced plans to build new assembly plants in the region,” he added.
This state-of-the-art facility will be the sixth Woodbridge facility in Brazil, offering moulded polyurethane technologies, automotive seat cushions and interior parts such as head restraints and arm rests.
