Mississauga, Ontario -- The Woodbridge Group and Toscana Gomma of Italy have signed a technical agreement, giving the Canadian firm access to polyurethane technology and chemistry for integral skin solutions developed by Toscana Gomma.
Woodbridge will offer this under the DecoSkin tradename, featuring products which combine a durable, non-porous, polyurethane outer layer with a lower density polyurethane core, it said in a 29 Nov press release. These can be engineered to offer targeted comfort and resiliency, the firm said.
The decorative, colour-matched finished surface, allows for a cost-effective range of entirely new designs and shapes, without any compromise to fit, finish or function, Woodbridge added.
A key attribute of DecoSkin technology is its capability to combine tough durability with a luxurious tactile quality, ideal for applications such as automotive grip handles. Other applications include automotive head restraints, armrests and steering wheels, as well as a range of products for other markets, Woodbridge concluded.
