Oxford, UK – World car registrations in March 2020 were down 37.9% compared with the same month in 2019 at 5.54m units, according to LMC Automotive.
In the US sales were lower by 38.6% in March. They reached 1.0m units. In the same month in 2019 US dealers sold 1.6m units.
Meanwhile, in China, according to LMC Automotive, sales hit 1.3m units and were down 45.6% on the previous month. In the same month in 2019 Chinese dealers sold 2.4m units.
At the same time, in Western Europe sales were 0.9m units in the month. This is lower than the amount sold in March by 53%.
Sales in Brazil and Argentina fell to 173 ,000 units in the month. This compares with 237 ,000 units in the same month in 2019.
