World leaders in materials and energy to attend French conference

    Paris - The first World Perspectives Materials Conference, devoted to the world's stakes in energy, will take place 30-31 March 2011 in Nancy, France, with nearly 300 international participants. 

    Organiser Materialia says this will be a "unique encounter with world renowned decision-makers," this first edition will be welcoming, among other personalities, Francis Mer - president, Marc Duval-Destin - chairman, PSA Peugeot Citroën VP Research & Advanced Engineering, Michel Wurth - Member of the Group Management Board - Arcelor Mittal, Toshihiko Tani - Fellow of Toyota Central R&D Labs., Inc, Yue Zhang - President of the BROAD Group, Frans Spaepen - Director of the Rowland Institute at Harvard, and many more.

    For two days, via plenary sessions and interactive workshops, the participants will be invited to debate, exchange and explore new paths concerning materials.

    The World Materials Perspectives Conference aims to assess the major energy challenges in the years ahead, looking at how to tackle likely a 50% increase in global energy consumption over the next 25 years, when at the same time we need to cut our reliance on fossil fuel industries.

    Materalia is organizing the first World Materials Perspectives in Nancy in 2011, with a major workshop on Renewable Energy, looking at the benefits of solar, wind, hydro, nuclear and even biomass energy.
