San Antonio, Texas -- XPEL Technologies Corp. has launched a clear coated paint protection film which will give paint protection installers the option of two grades of clear coated film, said the company in a 23 Oct statement.
The company has also introduced a 54-inch clear or top-coated paint protection film. The wider length will make it possible perform a complete hood installation without an unsightly break in the film, something that was not possible with the standard 48-inch rolls, said the company. The new size will also reduce labour time as well as costs, it added.
"With this exciting announcement, XPEL puts the final piece of the puzzle in place," said Steven McAuley, XPEL's ceo, in the statement.
"We listened to our customers and knew that they wanted industry transformation and a partner that offered an end-to-end solution," he added.
XPEL also announced that it has signed a letter of intent to acquire Dublin, Ohio-based Performance Tools Distributing, a global supplier and distributor of paint protection film.
"The acquisition of Performance Tools further enhances our ability to grow in this exciting industry and support our important installer network throughout the world," said McAuley.
George Lewis, president of Performance Tools said that the alliance would help Performance to "achieve much greater levels of growth."
According to the statement, Performance Tools is expected to contribute more than $3 million to XPEL's top-line revenues in 2008.
