San Antonio, Texas-US-based distributor of automotive aftermarket parts XPEL Technologies Corp. has signed a 5-year worldwide agreement with Arizona-based SmartShield to distribute that company's new polyurethane-based Paint Protection Liner for both new and used light duty trucks.
XPEL describes SmartShield's Paint Protection Liner as "a highly durable fade-resistant polyurethane compound," which protects critical areas of a vehicle from road debris and damage.
The film, on which patents are pending, can be used to cover rocker panels, bed rails, tailgates, and can even be extended to hood and bumper protection.
SmartShield's Paint Protection Liner product "can be easily installed on any vehicle in 15 minutes or less," San Antonio-based XPEL claims.
"We are extremely excited about the market potential of this product and anticipate rapid sales penetration in both the new vehicle and the very large pre-owned markets,' said XPEL's chief executive, Steven McAuley, in a company statement.
For Smartshield, "Our initial target market for this product is the nearly 9 million new light trucks sold annually in the US, with the follow-on opportunity to expand worldwide," commented Malcolm Hilcove, SmartShield's ceo, in the XPEL statement.
"The potential is enormous, especially when you look beyond light duty trucks and consider the many commercial and fleet vehicles that would benefit by eliminating expensive restoration costs from such an easy-to-install product," Hilcove added. epw "
