Yantai Wanhua reveals plans to make ADI and polyether polyols

    Shanghai, China -- At the PU China 2010 show, to be held 26-28 May in Shenzhen, Chinese raw materials supplier Yantai Wanhua Polyurethanes Co. Ltd will discuss with visitors its expansion plans to serve the polyurethanes sector. These include making aliphatic isocyanates and polyether polyols, the group said, in a preview of its PU China offerings.

    Yantai Wanhua said that, its motto is, "To be a reliable global isocyanate supplier and service provider," as the biggest supplier of MDI) methylene diphenyl diisocyanate) in Asia. At PU China the company said it "will display a whole raft of development and applications in the fields of polyurethanes on its stand (No.700)."

    Yantai Wanhua officially opened its new Wanhua Bajiao Portside Industrial Park in Yantai 6 Janu 2010. The site will make 600 kilotonnes per annum (ktpa) of MDI and 300 ktpa TDI.

    In three years, the total MDI manufacturing capacity of the group's Ningbo industry park will reach 900 ktpa.

    When the Bajiao project is finished, Yantai Wanhua will have more than 1.8 million tons of isocyanates capacity in China, making it one of the biggest and most competitive urethane producers in the world.

    Yantai Wanhua said it is also planning to build ADI (aliphatic isocyanate) and polyether polyol production units at its Ningbo and Yantai sites.

    At PU China 2010, the company will highlight progress in applications in rigid and flexible foam as well as specialties for the automotive, furniture, high-speed railway, adhesives and coating industries.

    Yantai Wanhua is also holding four product seminars on 26 May from 15.00 to 17.00.

    2. Solventless flexible film laminating adhesives.
    3. Research and Development of polyurethane materials for the automotive industry.
    4. Development of modified MDI in flexible furniture foam.
