Changzhi, Shanxi – Yiding Coal Chemical Technology is to set up a 200kT/year ethylene glycol (EG) plant at the Wangcun Industrial Park in Changzhi, Shanxi province.
Yiding signed contract with Shanghai Wuzheng Engineering Technology on 20 November to license the latter’s mid to high-pressure carbonylation technology using synthesis gas for this project, said Wuzheng’s website.
Cost for polyester grade EG produced at the new plant would reach 2,600 yuan/tonne ($400/tonne), according to the website.
Yiding Coal Chemical was set up in February with CNY 20m yuan registered capital.
