Guangzhou, China – Chinese catalyst maker Yourun Synthetic Material presented aw-VOC reactive metal catalysts for CASE at PU China 2019.
An example is its CUCAT-TY grade for sports tracks. This grade has a boiling point of over 300°C. Polyurethanes made with it have close to zero VOC. The company said these materials have less VOC than indoor air quality standards permit. Representatives were talking to UTECH-polyurethane.com on the sidelines of PU China. The event was held in Guangzhou on 5-7 September.
In addition, it does not catalyse diisocyanates’ reaction with water. That reaction generates carbon dioxide, and lead to avoid bulges in cast elastomers, the company explained.
The product also features slow reaction at the start, which provides ample time to cast dual-component materials. The grade has a faster reaction in later stages, which reduces hardening time.
Yourun said that compared with bismuth or tin catalysts, a smaller quantity of the new grade is required, usually 0.1% to 0.2% of the polyol component.
The Guangzhou-based company’s portfolio also covers bismuth, zinc and tin type catalysts.
