Lincoln UK - Fenner Precision has bought Winfield Industries Inc. a North American manufacturer of polyurethane and silicone rollers for uses in digital imaging, medical and diagnostic imaging.
"Bringing together the Winfield and Fenner Precision businesses and products will enable us to offer a comprehensive problem solving range of products to the paper propulsion industry and to our customers in the US, Asia and Europe," said Mike Thompson, managing director of Fenner Precision, in a 3 March statement on the deal.
Lincoln, UK-based Fenner Precision makes belts, tyres and pulleys for the paper-propulsion industry: "Addition of Winfield Industries' strengths will enhance Fenner Precision's technology base, production capabilities, product offering and industries served," the company said.
Winfield, based in Buffalo, New York, has "40 years of expertise and ground-breaking research, development and class-leading chemistry in high-performance polymer-based rollers," according to Fenner.
These capabilities will complement Fenner Precision's global experience in developing and producing polyurethane mini-pitch timing belts, rubber flat belts and high-performance polyurethane and silicone tyres for office automation and paper propulsion.
"The combined company will focus on providing a more comprehensive line of solutions," Fenner said.
Winfield's custom-moulded and Fenner Precision's polymer-reinforced fabric technology together "will enable us to offer a broader range of solutions to our customers through a jointly formed global sales and marketing organisation," said Jeffrey Oak, president of Winfield.
Winfield's operations will continue at the Buffalo facility, under the Fenner Precision name.
