Southfield, Michigan -- At the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, from 9-12 Jan, BASF says it will showcase the increasing role of chemical products in improved vehicle performance and comfort, in a 4500 sq.ft exhibit in room D2-15 .
This will include many BASF Polyurethane Solutions, found in countless automotive applications, ranging from lightweight components for the car body, instrument panels, foam seating, centre consoles, headrests and load floors.
PU uses also cover soft-touch Elastoskin on the door panel skins, Cellasto microcellular elastomer to improve NVH (noise. Vibration and harshness), and Elastollan thermoplastic polyurethanes in door handles.BASF says it works closely with car designers, engineers, collision repair centres and OEM manufacturers to apply its innovative product ideas in developing lighter, safer, colourful and more energy-efficient cars with unparalleled motoring comfort.
Also on display will be BASF's automotive coatings portfolio, which includes OEM coatings and refinish coatings for the collision repair/refinish industries. BASF says its modern paint processes combined with its special effect pigments and technologies, result in a full breadth of colour solutions and development capabilities.
